The subject of this comparison are two grammar practice pages. In the previous post, I mainly highlighted the obsolescence and scarcity of the offerings of the website as a shortcoming. In this case, it will be a website that is interactive and clean, but because the content is user-generated, as with liveworksheets, it should be treated with caveats. The first point of comparison is transparency. The isl menu is more detailed than the liveworksheets. Although it is divided into detailed topics in terms of vocabulary, the only option is to select grammar practice among the lesson types, but you cannot enter a specific grammar topic, you can only search for different verb tenses in the search box, if you want to practice that one, for example. On liveworksheets, on the other hand, you can do this, but you can't specify a language level, which you can here. The following shortcoming does not apply to the selection of printable worksheets, but for now I will focus on the interactive part of the site. Which is great fun even as an adult, because you have to solve questions that pop up in the video as it's playing, broken down into sections when the video stops. These can be multiple-choice or gap-filling tasks, or you can simply click on the picture where the task asks you to. Unlike the online fill-in and self-improvement worksheets of lieworksheets, the content production and consumption is more fun, and in some cases, perhaps more engaging. For example, my young students were engaged when an animated film they knew became a practice platform for personal characteristics and possessive pronouns. But as an adult, it's also interesting to do listening and vocabulary exercises based on a video clip from a well-known series or movies. For many, this may be the first step to consuming foreign language content. As with the liveworksheets, it is worth testing the exercises in advance, as they may contain errors or inaccuracies as they are edited by other users.
